Wednesday, 11th February saw Imberhorne help to coordinate and take part take part in the 15th annual Health and Social Care Conference held at the NEAPC in Crawley. Mrs Collyer and Miss Brown brought 16 of our delegates from Year 12 and Year 13 to represent our school and the Sixth Form.

On Tuesday 24th February, a brave Oriel side turned up with only 12 players at Imberhorne and to their credit fulfilled the fixture rather than cancel.The Yr 7 team played them first for 15 minutes and battled really well against the taller and older players to overpower them by 12-7.

A few months ago, some students approached the school asking if it would be possible to try and achieve Fairtrade School status. The students were already involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award so their idea fitted appropriately with the ‘Service’ section of the award. Students, D.

The Rotary Club of East Grinstead welcomed nine teams, from five schools, who came together at Chequer Mead on Wednesday evening January 21st, to demonstrate their skills in speaking to an audience.

On Saturday 17 January, the PE Department took a group of 60 Key Stage 3 students to watch London Irish vs. Connacht rugby match at the Madejski stadium in Reading. We all thoroughly enjoyed the visit as we watched London Irish beat Connacht by 75-5, in a very much one-sided match.

Our Year 8 boys' team unluckily lost the County Cup football final to Dorothy Stringer School, 2-1. Well done to goal scorer, N. Owens for our one goal.

Every year a Blacklands Farm day trip is organised for Year 12. It is used as a team building exercise to stimulate teamwork, develop leadership skills and encourage self confidence.

On Friday 5th December the Jazz Band performed at Gatwick airport to entertain passengers and staff. The performance was organized by Gatwick Travel Care to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice. The Jazz Band played a mixture of jazz classics as well as traditional carols.

Year 8 students teamed up with East Grinstead Lions to deliver Christmas parcels to local residents this week.

On 5th December a scrabble tournament took place between students from 'scrabble club' and Age Concern of East Grinstead. Despite the boys best efforts they lost the tournament 14-13, although they are very much looking forward to a rematch at the beginning of February.
