Six Awards for our Young Enterprise Team

Our ‘Young Enterprise’ student team of twelve Year 12's scooped not one, but SIX of the awards that were up for grabs at the Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex Area Young Enterprise finals last night.

Awarded with the top prize for the night ‘Best Company’,  Imberhorne are now proudly through to the prestigious Sussex County finals next Wednesday 4th May at Brighton University!  The annual competition brings together student groups who wish to set up and run a company building their enterprise and employability skills – and without a doubt developing their confident attitude in the world of business.  This year there have been 1,584 companies taking part across schools from all over the country.  Over 500 have competed in Sussex alone, running 42 companies!  Imberhorne were one of 8 schools, and the only one in the East Grinstead area, to reach the finals - going up against a mixture of state and private schools, amongst them – Millais, Hurstpierpoint College and Warden Park Academy.

‘Aura Bottles’, the name of our Year 12 venture, has developed, marketed and sold innovative water bottles with a detachable infuser for fresh fruit to enhance the drink with natural vitamins and flavours. Their efforts were well and truly rewarded last night as the students picked up awards for Best Overall Company; Best Y12 Company, Best Presentation; Best Report and Accounts; Best Trade Stand and Best Business Plan.

Comments from the judges included ‘Imberhorne have made such a good impression’ and the student’s have been outstanding’.
