Making Roots

We are pleased to introduce our newly reformed Eco Committee at KS3!   Imberhorne have long been involved in many projects to increase knowledge among students of how to care for our environment, be more aware of sustainability issues and take responsibility for our part in preserving our planet. Fair Trade, for example, has been high on our agenda in recent years. We reached the coveted accolade of 'Fair Active' status a few years ago of which we are very proud.

Following an assemblies delivered by Dr Barr, Deputy Headteacher, on recycling and single use plastics in October, Seb Fryska in Year 8 felt compelled to do more about our single-use plastic in school, hence the reformation of a student Eco Committee. Molly Manwill, an ex-student of Imberhorne and environmental company founder of ‘Making Roots' seemed perfect to introduce to the students. We invited Molly along on 29th November to speak to the committee about how to get their campaign together – watch this space!

Please visit Molly's company website Making Roots which campaigns for sustainable lifestyles, with a particular interest around reducing single-use plastics. We are extremely proud of Molly and look forward to a long and successful relationship.
