Key Stage 4 Exam results at Imberhorne

Imberhorne’s students celebrated as they received their GCSE and BTEC results.

Students have faced unprecedented challenges in the last two years and have had to work very hard to overcome considerable difficulties.  We have been really impressed by their resilience and determination.  They have applied themselves exceptionally well, working through a range of assessments in Year 11 to show us what they are capable of achieving.

Staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that course content was covered and that students have been well prepared.  A rigorous process was applied to the awarding of grades and we are very pleased with the outcomes, believing they are a very fair and accurate representation of our students’ capability.

Key headline figures are as follows:

  • 82% of all grades were at grade 4 or above (compared with 80% in 2020)
  • 30% of all grades were at grade 7 or above (compared with 28% in 2020)
  • 15 students attained grade 8 or grade 9 in all or nearly all their subjects
  • 2 students attained grade 9 in all or very nearly all their subjects

Considering how much of the Key Stage 4 courses were taught remotely these are remarkable figures and reflect very favourably on all students, especially those who have performed so well.

We are delighted that the year group, as a whole, have been so successful with the vast majority of students meeting or surpassing their target grades.  We look forward to welcoming back many of our students into the 6th form and for those embarking on courses elsewhere we wish them the very best of luck in their future ventures.
