Japan Earthquake Appeal

On Friday 25th March, students and staff raised £1,366.06 towards the Japan Earthquake Appeal. Thank you to everyone. The following is a brief letter written by Kumi Prentice, teacher of Japanese. Kumi comes from Sendai.Pray for JapanJapan was struck by a massive earthquake followed by a tsunami on 11 March. Thousands of people have died, many more are missing and many are injured. It is heartbreaking to see my country, and my hometown in such a state. Thank you to my students of Year 10 and Year 11 who helped me create a lot of cranes. The crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy creatures, and is said to live for a thousand years. 1,000 cranes will be granted a wish such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. Still thousands of people are missing and injured. We really pray for Japan.
