Imberhorne School in the Running to Win Dragon's Nationwide Enterprise Competition

Peter Jones CBE has announced a team of budding entrepreneurs from Imberhorne School as finalists in his nationwide enterprise competition, Tycoon. KnitterNatters sisters, Ruby and Niamh Doyle in Year 7 and 8, are one of the eight successful businesses invited to attend Buckingham Palace for a special awards ceremony on 1st  March. We couldn't be more excited for them!

The young tycoons received £750 as a start-up loan from the Peter Jones Foundation for Enterprise to launch their gift experience business, which matches older people who like to knit, but might be lonely or isolated, with children who would like to learn how to knit for free. This year, the stakes were higher than ever before with almost 400 teams from across the UK going head-to-head in the competition. Businesses spanned from homemade soaps and personalised necklaces to biometric scanners and emergency wallets. In total, over two thousand high-calibre students received funding to start their businesses.

The girls are really excited, about reaching the final, meeting Peter Jones and of course going to Buckingham Palace. Mr Thompson, Business teacher and Tycoon in Schools Coordinator at Imberhorne commented "I am so happy for KnitterNatters, such a genuine pair of inspirational and determined entrepreneurs!"
