Imberhorne Retain Adam Dabell Trophy

The annual Imberhorne v Sackville 6th Form Match in memory of Adam Dabell, a former Sackville student and footballer, once again provided us with 90 minutes of excellent football.  The match was held at East Grinstead Football Club and was filled to capacity with parents and freinds and staff. The final score was 2-1 to Imberhorne. Tom Ray was the goal scorer for Sackville and the scorer of both Imberhorne goals was Captain Harvey Weddell (who also scored one of the two winning goals in last year’s match).  Harvey commented after the match  “Sackville were the better team in the first half but we stuck together and came through to win it, I was proud to lead the boys out as captain”<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Sam Rintoul, Imberhorne striker said “ I think that all the boys played well. We coped under pressure and our back line was solid. Shame we conceded but it was one of those things, they were lucky to get a long shot in”. The Town Mayor stayed for the entire match and presented the boys with their cup, trophy and individual medals. He commented that the evening clearly demonstrated to all that the majority of young people are a great credit to their local community.
