Mr Jones, Assistant Headteacher, presented assemblies to all year groups during the last week of January on his chosen theme which marked Holocaust Memorial Day. HMD takes place on 27th January each year, it is a time to remember the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. 

Year 12 engaged in a special morning of commemoration on Thursday 26th January, firstly hearing from our two Year 13 students, Luis and Sandie, who shared their experience of their visit to Auswitz in Poland. Each year, two of our Sixth Form students take this important and life changing trip with the Holocaust Memorial Project and they share what they have learned on their return. All our Year 12 students then joined in a Live Webcast with holocaust survivor, Ruth Posner BEM. This year’s theme being 'Ordinary People.'
