Our field at Upper School was transformed into a fantastic festival event for 'I-Fest' on Friday 8th July to unite our school and wider community.  Motivated by raising money for our life-changing Tanzania Exchange Programme and also to celebrate our school and local friends, we are proud to say this event will be up there with our most memorable and uplifting successes. Staff and students, past, present and future flocked in their hundreds to support the night, which was opened by our Town Mayor and Imberhorne friend Bob Mainstone.

Act after act proudly performed and wowed us on the main stage. Staff, Governors and friends kept festival-goers fed and watered and the weather was kind; a beautiful sun setting on our field adding to the atmosphere and general feel good mood.

There was something for everyone, from the staff choir belting out an ABBA medley to local band 'The Slammers' rocking 'Baggy Trousers' by Madness  - perhaps in tribute to the amusing strides that formed part of Mr Turner and Miss Benn's pirates costumes on their duelling game! Local community choir 'Step up and Sing' entertained the masses later on in the programme and older students' bands rocked revellers so much that families couldn't drag themselves awa

Chair of Governors, Bob Darvill said "There may be many superlatives to describe what occurred over the four hours of I-Fest. Amazing, wonderful and astounding are words which feature on my list. It was probably the most universally enjoyable and community-affirming, event that Imberhorne has engaged in.  This has truthfully been a whole school community experience. The infectious enthusiasm with which the original concept took hold with ideas, planning and volunteering in every corner of the school has been tangible. Imberhorne displayed and enjoyed its rich cache of talents: music, singing and dancing. We saw students, ex-students, staff, parents, neighbours and Governors, all working and taking pleasure together at a single place and time. This is the Imberhorne ethos.  No wonder the sun came out to shine with us!”
