Coastal Field Trips

Our Year 10 GCSE Geography students enjoyed a day of fieldwork during May which they embraced with maximum enthusiasm and effort. Accompanying staff said they were all a joy to be with. They visited four coastal locations, starting in Eastbourne measuring some beach profiles, then to Birling Gap to investigate cliff erosion due to a lack of management and weak geology, proceeding to Seaford to examine the hard/ soft coastal management strategies which protect this beautiful coastline, lastly visiting Peacehaven examining the cliff regrading management and sea wall protection. Mr Quigley, Leader of Geography commented, 'Excellent questions asked by intrigued students throughout whilst they soaked up the beautiful south coast sunshine.'
