Christmas Cheer in the Community

A very talented group of our KS3 music students gave up their evening on Thursday 8th December to perform Christmas carols at the Queen Victoria Hospital, singing on different wards and staying for the tree lighting ceremony afterwards. We were delighted to be joined by the town mayor, Bob Mainstone, and the deputy mayor, Julie Mockford, who both sang with the group the whole way round!

The mayor worked at Imberhorne for an impressive 44 years and it was fantastic to collaborate for this special event. We are very thankful to Lynn Hunter-Rowe and John Dabell who helped to organise it.

A spokesperson for QVH commented, "Mrs Robinson's (Imberhorne Music Teacher) enthusiasm was infectious and the students – well what can I say?  They were amazing and so excited about what songs they would sing.  It was all I could do to hold back the tears as we walked the halls – the patients and staff loved it and I really hope they will come back next year"

In addition to this, Imberhorne Music students performed for residents at Charters Retirement Village on Friday 9th December and will take their Christmas cheer to Littlefair Retirement home on Thursday 15th December.  All lovely opportunities to engage with our fabulous local community.  Thnaks to all the stduents involved for giving up their time for others.
