Dear Parents and Carers

I am delighted to introduce myself as Headteacher at Imberhorne School. It is my greatest honour to lead our school, which has such a strong shared vision and a history of excellent academic achievement.

At Imberhorne School our values Achievement, Ambition, Community, Resilience and Respect form the bedrock of our culture. Students will work with the most caring and devoted staff team, who have high expectations of them, and the whole child at the heart of all aspects of their thinking.

We have a carefully planned seven-year journey through the school so that every student can fulfil their potential and be in control of their next steps. Our curriculum is challenging, broad and balanced, driven by our Strive, Support, Succeed vision, valuing every subject. We prioritise rich learning opportunities across all subject areas from Key Stage 3 to 5 so that every child finds and experiences things they love. Your child’s learning will be meticulously planned and sequenced to maximise the development of their skills and knowledge as they grow through the school.

There are an extraordinary number of opportunities for extra-curricular, sports, arts and cultural activities, as well as countless opportunities for student leadership. We are committed to experiences outside of the classroom as we know that these are as important as the ones from within. Students are encouraged to make the most of life at school and to actively connect with each other and the world around them.

Our pastoral care provides support for all students where it is needed, working in close partnership with families. We believe that high standards for attendance, engagement and conduct are not in conflict with this, providing clear and well-communicated boundaries that support the very best learning experiences for all students. Our school is calm, relational and purposeful in what we call a warm-strict environment.

We are an inclusive anti-discrimination school community and recognise that our differences create a richer learning environment. Our most important mission is ensuring that every student leaves Imberhorne with the excellent outcomes they deserve and that they are empowered and ready for the challenges ahead in the next chapter, equipped with the tools to sustain their emotional and physical health and wellbeing as a positive contributor to their community.

Imberhorne School is a special community in which to learn and work - please contact us if you’d like to find out more about our school.
