Imberhorne School has for the first time achieved a success that it has been so close to on several occasions over the years, having not one but two teams qualify to play in the National Schools Netball Tournament in March.

On Saturday 22nd January, the U14 and U16 Netball teams took part in the Southern Region round of the National Schools tournament. Having qualified from the Sussex round in November, both teams went into the competition to play against schools from seven other counties.

The U16 team were outstanding! They went through whole tournament without losing a game. After a hard-fought play-off with Wycombe Abbey School they won 9-7 and followed this with a 4-goal win over the other qualifying team, Brighton College, in the final.

The U14 team had to work hard in their section of the competition, this being the first time they have reached a competition of this standard. The team were rewarded by making it to the play-off game after coming runners-up in their section through goal difference. With all nerves forgotten, the U14 side played by far their best performance of the day and consistently held the lead against the Wycombe Abbey U14 team to win 7-5 to achieve their place in the nationals.

Well done!
