Mud, mud, glorious mud. Nothing quite like it (for Year 8 anyway).
For three days before half term Year 8 students went form by form to Blacklands Activity centre just outside East Grinstead. Their mission: to work as a team to solve problems, set by The Fourth Dimension Group.

Challenges involved scaling walls, abseiling towers, balancing gigantic seesaws and passing through giant cobwebs, without alerting the giant spider! Other activities included searching for markers in the woods and rolling barrels across a field - during which, students had to carry and care for an egg each! The eggs were given names such as “Eggbert” and “Eggbar” and cosseted all day. They were then dropped mercilessly from the top of the low ropes course with nothing more to protect them then a paper parachute and 30cm of sellotape! Not many eggs survived “the scramble”.

The students returned to school bedecked in black plastic sacks to protect the coach seats. Highlights were the mud and seeing the teams encourage each other attempting activities never dreamed of. Low points (for some), the mud and how quickly the time went.

'Can we do it again?'
'There was not enough time to say goodbye to our egg...'
'I climbed the wall twice'.

A big thank you to parents and staff for their involvement and invaluable help.
