FAQs

Does my child have to study Personal Development?

Personal Development is taught alongside Citizenship as a combined subject. While Citizenship remains a statutory part of the curriculum, PSHE remains non-statutory although in a review of the National Curriculum, the government made it clear that all state schools ‘should make provision for personal, social, health and economic education, drawing on good practice’. (National Curriculum in England, DfE, 2013).
